What is Socks of the West?

It all started with...

A few ambitious teenagers determined to make a difference. Socks of the West started as a project within the Western Bulldogs Leadership Program in 2017, in which we were able run a care drive in our community. We started out by identifying that socks were the most underdonated items of clothing to charities, and sought to create a project to change that. By setting up a care drive at the Ballarat Library, we were able to collect donations and distribute 1500+ pairs of socks and 160+ care packages within the Ballarat community via the local SoupBus.

But we didn't stop there...

Now, we are taking our project to the next level, with Socks of the West. We have built a social enterprise out of our hard work, with for each pair of socks sold, a pair donated to someone in need. This aims to be a more sustainable project, and we hope to continue to give back to the community for as long as we can.

Heres how you can helP!

For each and every pair of socks that you buy from Socks of the West, we will donate a pair to an organisation that will help get those socks out to someone who needs them. Without your support, your purchases, likes, and shares, we are just some kids with socks. With you, we can bring a positive change to the community, providing warm feet for those experiencing homelessness or in need, as well as promoting youth leadership and engagement within the community.
