Amy with a member from the Ballarat SoupBus to accept our donation of over 1500+ socks from our 2017 Care Drive, the predecessor to Socks of the West.

With the purchase of each and every pair of Socks of the West socks, we will donate a pair to someone who needs it. By having multiple donation times throughout the year, we will be donating seasonally appropriate socks all year around - warm and woolly socks during winter, thin and casual socks during summer. Keep an eye on this page to see when our next donation drop will be, and see where your donated socks will be making a difference.

CARE DRIVE

Socks of the West originated from a project we implemented last year, the Western Bulldogs Leadership Project Care Drive 2017. We set up a donation box at the Ballarat Library and asked businesses for their support in donating goods to make care packages. Overall, we were able to make 160+ care packs and receive 1500+ pairs of donated socks. We partnered with the Ballarat SoupBus to distribute these.

Western bulldogs LEADERSHIP PROJECT

None of this would ever have been possible without the Western Bulldogs Leadership Project. Through the extensive 6 month program, we were equipped with the leadership skills we needed to grow, develop and become better leaders and people within the community. As well as making lifelong friendships, the project was invaluable with making Socks of the West possible.

YOUTH AWARDS

Our work with the Western Bulldogs Leadership Project Care Drive 2017 was recognised during the Ballarat Council Youth Awards in 2017. We are humbled to have won the Group Project category, which we can only attest to all of our hard work as well as support we received from the community. We are excited to continue doing important work through Socks of the West.
